Instructor of over 50 private students in his regular schedule, Jesse Brown focusses on the curriculum of the Conservatory Canada as well as supplementary ear training and pop music work with keyboards and software based music creation. Many of Jesse’s students can be found performing both as a vocalist and pianist….a melting pot for talent in a positive environment. Twice a year, the Musicscool has a fundraising recital at the Bassment – Saskatoon’s premiere jazz club.

Jesse has worked alongside the lovely and talented Eileen Laverty for 15 years, providing a gentle musical backdrop for one of Saskatchewan’s finest products. Jesse has provided backing vocals as well as accordion support when needed. Jesse is currently working with Eileen on her latest recording project in Bart McKay’s Saskatoon based award winning studio.

Over 20 years ago, Jesse had begun performing ambient background music for digestive purposes as a “fill in” for Saskatoon pianist Martin Janovsky. After having left the province for a few years from 1995 – 1998 and honing his skill at Winnipeg’s famed Hotel Fort Garry (replacing Chantal Kreviazuk), Jesse returned to Saskatoon and picked up where he left off, providing an environment of relaxation and enjoyment for fine diners, quite regularly filling in for his mentor. Jesse Brown can also be seen playing at Saskatoon’s local jazz club – the Bassment regularly during Piano Friday’s.

Jesse began playing the clubs way back in 1991 with Saskatoon’s the Reign ( Jesse was 17 at the time), and upon returning to Saskatoon in 1998, continued to work as a session player and performer with acts such as the Fancyladds, Joel Grundahl Band, Wide Mouth Mason, and the Steadies (aka Mobadass).

The Technics program focussed on chording and patterns in their curriculum. There was also a huge focus on arranging background tracks on the Technics pianos for students to perform and practice with. Jesse fell in love with sharing and mentoring students, and decided to focus more energy into it with his own piano school in 2006.

Jesse Volunteered his time to work with Knowledge.Spirit.Strength with M.S.W. Terri Peterson in a social research project aimed at empowering Saskatchewan Aboriginal students at SUNTEP in Prince Albert. This project was disseminated to communities and social agencies within Saskatchewan and Canada.
